Hi All.

Today we loaded the bikes into Petes little car and headed out over the Snake pass to the Hope valley.

Hope is a very small Village in the Hope vally over the hill from Glossop. The Hope valley area is home to some of the oldest mountain bike trails in the uk

At Hope, there is a bike shop called 18 bikes. This shop is the UK agent for the Pinion internal gearbox. Pinion gearboxs are made in Germany and are available with 9, 12 or 18 speeds.

18 bikes have a steel hardtail with a 18 speed gearbox that Pete and I where able to test ride.

The bike rode very well, there is a 11% gap between each gear so 18 speeds is a few to many.

The 12 speed one will be the ticket. The Gearbox shifted great and rode well. Pinion are working on a Fat bike specific box. It feels much like a normal drive rather that the spongy feel you get with an aline.

After out test ride we headed of into the local hills.

Well it was another great day out.

I think the Pinion was the star of the day though.

It was Petes 30th birthday as well and we headed out for a meal and a few beers.

The photos have not come thru for me to add so I will  see if they are available tomorrow.

Off for a ride with Petes mate Dave this arvo and then off to Matlock tonight.

See ya then.

Cheers Pete
